My name is Dixie Eigenrauch.  I have lived in Nevada since I was 3 years old.  I have always loved animals all my life.   I am married with a wonderful husband and we have 2 wonderful boys. One is on his own now.

When I was 7 years old my father moved our family to Pahrump, NV from Las Vegas, so we could have a little farm.  We had horses, dogs, cats, genie pigs, pigs, chickens, sheep, rabbits, turkeys, goats, ponies, and you name it we had it.

Anyway because there really was no way to make a living in Pahrump my father drove to work each day to Las Vegas.   With that anytime someone had a problem with their dogs we got to keep them or take care of them for a while.  We had a Doberman, Irish setter, a collie, a std poodle, 2 keeshonds, doxies, and more. And lots of cats.

I use to barrel race as a child and loved my horses and my pet goat.  I did 4-H with my horses.

And I always had a dream of owning a Collie of my own. So after my father past away.  My dog did also shortly after and I needed a dog.  So I started the look for a collie.  I found at our local shelter a dog listed as a collie and I adopted it knowing it was not a collie it was a sheltie.  But we brought him home and that was it I was in love.

I had never met a dog so smart in all my life.  I would show him things one or two times and he could do it every time after that.  So I was sold.  So it got me going with agility and he got a few titles and I decided I wanted to do conformation.  So I bought a puppy with a friend and I didn't know any better and it was from a puppy mill. (A USDA licensed breeder = in my terms is some who just produces puppies to make money period). So I started reading and learning about the breed and the problems they have and what tests should be done and so on.  So I did all the testing on the dog because she came from a line of dogs that had no testing done.  And I started showing her.  She was clearly pet quality dog.  So I kept working with her and started looking for a show dog.  I got one and that is how it all started.   I have come to know and love this breed very much.

I joined our local sheltie club and started helping with rescue if I could.  Then a few years later I was voted in as President of Shetland Sheepdog Club of Southern Nevada.  And now I am the president and Rescue coordinator.

I breed and show my dogs.  They are part of my life in almost everyway.  My youngest son is a JR handler for UKC.  And would like to do AKC when he is old enough.  He is the #1 JR handler for UKC for our region in 2009.

My oldest son is very good with dogs and has learn how to train them right along with me.  And is very good at it.

We show and breed AKC dogs with them being registered and shown UKC as well.  We have several UKC Champions and UKC Grand Champions.  We also have the #1 UKC sheltie for 2009.  We are also working on those AKC Champions.

Thank you for stopping by and getting to know me.  I hope you will enjoy our site and our dogs.  We sure are proud of each and every one of them.  We test them all before breeding.

We also keep a running waiting list so if  you would like to be put on our waiting list let us know.
